As Activity Director I am responsible for all activities and events at Amber Lea Place. I am currently running 18 - 24 different activities monthly. I also help in many other areas including fire safety, health and safety and advise in lifting and transfer techniques for all staff. I also run three group exercise classes per week focusing on balance, strength and cardio exercises and work closely with the onsite Kinesiologist who runs the Falls Prevention Classes at Amber Lea . I am fortunate to have been able to increase my knowledge and skills at Amber Lea Place through the variety of Health Care Professionals I work with on a daily basis. Being a Department Manager allows myself to continue to learn and improve my skills every day and have fun with the great staff and residents I work with. I also work as a Department Manager for Complaints, look after all Falls Reports and In-services for staff and over see all PPE supplies and volunteers.

As an OTA/PTA I had the opportunity to work along side many Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. I always worked in Retirement and Long Term care facilities coordinating physiotherapy for the residents in those areas. It is in doing this that I was able to increase my skill level while working along side many health care professionals who kindly taught me and furthered my education in Geriatrics.
