Manage plant wide maintenance and capital program maximizing asset reliability, uptime and cost effectiveness. Develop and implement Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program including utilization of SAP Maintenance Management System database and apply reliability engineering, root cause analysis and troubleshooting of equipment and processes. Develop, implement and oversee predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance practices including thermography, vibration monitoring, ultrasonic testing, and oil analysis. Coach and develop training plans for all maintenance technicians. Supervise Maintenance Supervisor, Storeroom, and Planner functions with a department staff of 23 persons.

Work with plant personnel and contractors to facilitate design, implementation, training, and maintenance of processes or equipment throughout the plant. Major projects included relocating and startup of a web printing press and gantry robot systems, installation of finished product palletizing systems, and installation of a nitrogen generation system. Other plant projects involved plant wide data collection systems, equipment upgrades including design and installation of press features including automatic press roll splicing, finished product palletizing, and automatic web de-curl systems. Six Sigma projects focused on reducing startup waste, cutting downtime, improving the recordable injury rate, and reducing maintenance spending, and increasing production.Provide environmental expertise and leadership to plant staff. Develop and implement environmental programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations in support of company environmental guidelines including but not limited to air permitting, hazardous and non-hazardous wastes collection and disposal, and storm water management. Develop and implement plant environmental training in support of the written environmental programs. Perform periodic environmental self-audits; develop recommendations for environmental programs and performance improvements. Develop, track, analyze and communicate plant environmental reporting and statistics. Coordinate plant involvement with regulatory inspections. Consult with and provide guidance to the Plant Manager and Director of Environmental Health and Safety on environmental issues. Organize workload so regulatory deadlines are met. Environmental projects included permitting for new web printing press, implementation of Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plan, permitting for new equipment installations, and renewal of existing permits.

Direct supervisor of instrument technicians and relief supervisor for all electricians in a union environment. Update and maintain Rosemount and Foxboro distributed control systems as well as Modicon PLC systems and all field instrumentation. Responsible for programming of LINKman expert kiln control (fuzzy logic) system. Responsible for instrumentation conforming to EPA regulations covering boilers and industrial furnaces (BIF) burning hazardous wastes including kiln permissive and continuous emission monitoring. Initiate and provide engineering cost evaluation, design, and implementation of instrumentation projects as well as other plant electrical projects working closely with plant personnel and/or contractors.

Update and maintain plant process control systems including Allen-Bradley, Westinghouse, and Digitronics PLC systems. Provide engineering cost evaluation; design an implementation of plant electrical and mechanical projects.

Work with Plant Engineer and Electrical Engineer on update and design of electrical power distribution systems, Allen-Bradley PLC systems, and motor control systems. Employed during junior and senior year of college.
