My job remit and duties are the same as my previous position. I had 9 great years with LOROL but now the time has come for a new era as Arriva take over the London Overground concession.Managing my team of Drivers gives me the opportunity to continue with my passion of coaching, mentoring & instructing which I was at the forefront of for LOROL in the training school in my time there.I aim to make sure that my drivers are performing to the exacting high standards which train driving involves, helping the industry to achieve a very good safety record.This can be achieved by being actively involved in all drivers' development whether experienced or new to the game, showing a keen interest in them and importantly leading by example which then balances the competence assessment side of the role.Competent and proficient in the following duties - accident and safety of the line incident investigation, carrying out risk assessments, developing driver training aids and safety briefs, disciplinary investigations, TOLO duties, SYDAC & KMW Simulator operation.

I was fortunate to be involved in the new age of Driver training under LOROL getting involved in the development of a new imaginative, industry leading Driver Training Course and Risk Assessments for this. Then being at the forefront of taking on what was unprecedented at the time in sheer numbers of trainees, delivering this training course to the large percentage of Drivers who have qualified under LOROL helping the company to deliver a fantastic Olympics in 2012.Here my creative talents were always at work, writing and delivering Satey Training Update Days, constantly developing parts of the Trainee Driver Course both in the classroom and practical traction information for our newly acquired 378 units. I have also become fully conversant in simulator training using Sydac and KMW systems.

Tutoring, mentoring, coaching trainee drivers' in a number of areas of railway operations. A large percentage of the time was spent teaching how to operate trains in a safe, proficient and reliable manner for passenger services. During this time my creative talents expanded writing & delivering training packages for new traction units and route training briefs.

Driving Suburban passenger services around the North London Line network, in some lovely 313,150 & 508 units. Throw in some 321 work on the West Coast Mainline between Euston & Northampton for good measure.

I ran various petrol stations around the south east and North London area managing teams of staff between 5 to 12 members. Purchase ordering, fuel logistics and team building were the main duties on a day to day basis.

I joined Asda on their trainee management scheme after leaving school post a-level, where I had my first taste of mentoring teams of people and being responsible for sales, ordering, working to targets and compliance with health and safety regulations.
