I am a scientist at Code Bio Therapeutics focused on assay development, serving both in vitro and in vivo models studying delivery mechanisms of genomic medicines using 3DNA nanoparticles.I embarked on my scientific career while completing coursework at the Community College of Philadelphia. I enrolled in Biomedical Technician Traineeship (BTT) at the Wistar Institute. The curriculum included experimental techniques for use in genomics and basic research. Western Blotting, Next-Gen library preparation, cell culture, DNA/RNA isolation. Later I chose to continue my education at the Wistar Institute and became a certified Biomedical Research Technician (BRT) through an apprenticeship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia under the tutelage of Struan F.A. Grant in his lab for spatial and functional genomics. I continued my career as a researcher in the Grant lab as a researcher interested in all things Genomics, exploring functional impacts of regulatory variants in Type II diabetes. My previously professional experience in health care was as a Certified Music Therapist and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings. As an MT and PRS, I developed skills in group education, group leadership, team communication, emergency and crisis response, customer service, and a range of medical record documentation including a variety of treatment planning and assessments. Knowledgeable healthcare services professional with a Bachelor of Arts - BA focused in Music Therapy/Therapist from Temple University.
