San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl Host Committee
Responsible for leading the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee organization from start up phase to game week operations for Super Bowl 50 over a three year period. Led key organization functions of financial management, marketing, corporate sales, event strategy, entertainment, community relations, civic relations, marketing communications and stakeholder/board management. ♣ Leadership Role: hired and managed full time staff and teams overseeing all key functional areas - operational planning, logistics, events, marketing, innovation, IT, corporate sponsorship, fundraising, finance, legacy, public relations, regional promotion, and execution of Super Bowl 50 events and activities, as well as supporting the NFL’s delivery of Super Bowl 50 on February 7th, 2016.♣ Vision: Created and conceived Host Committee vision of Super Bowl 50 being about more than the game, embracing philanthropy, technology and public sector support, while leaving a lasting positive legacy of impact for the San Francisco Bay Area.♣ Business Development: Created a multi-tiered commercial sponsorship model to raise funds for the Host Committee. Raised over $60M via corporate sponsorships to fund the Host Committee operation. Recruited some of the Bay Area’s largest corporations to financially support Super Bowl 50. Super Bowl 50 was a historic and record setting event for the NFL, and was the most watched Super Bowl in history with 167M total viewers. Over 1.2 million people visited Super Bowl City in downtown San Francisco, making it the largest single event in the history of the Bay Area. Super Bowl 50 activities generated nearly $250 million in pure economic impact to the region, all sourced from visitors coming from outside the Bay Area.The Super Bowl 50 Host Committee also achieved a core goal established early in the Host Committee’s tenure: being the most giving, philanthropic Super Bowl in history, donating over $13.1 million to local Bay Area non profits and charities.
