Operationally supporting 400 stores Canada-wide, including stores in United States and approx. 450 international franchises under the La Senza banner.Operating a centralized distribution center 24 hours per day, 5 days a week.Responsible for all corporate logistics and transportation services.Consolidated multiple transportation companies to use one National Carrier – Purolator Courier Ltd., automating all transportation billing and manifests, as well as “system inter-facing” with our warehouse radio frequency “RF” technology. Reduced overall transportation costs and improved on transit times to stores.Worked with corporate internal divisions – I.T., Finance, Buying, Merchandise Distribution and external system companies to ensure all system upgrades or new system implementations were accomplished in a timely fashion, with minimal or no negative impact on regular business.Directly responsible for the efficient and cost effective operation of several “non-buying” administrative departments – (ie.) Purchasing (non-merchandise), Supply Dept. Warehouse, Printing, Mailroom, Manufacturing Liaison, Warehouse Systems (I.T.) Support, and Merchandise Samples / Ticketing Dept.

Implemented changes in the overall operation of the Distribution Center – Labor savings of $ 275,000 in ’94 & ’95.Negotiated new transport rates to reduce transportation expense by 10 % - savings of $ 85,000. Realized an improvement in service levels and transit times to stores.

Distribution Services:Responsible for distribution and transportation services, including machines for cutting bulk fabrics.

Reported to the Vice-President, responsible for the cost effective operation of a 440,000 square foot distribution center.Total staff included 5 managers, 17 supervisors, 250 (non-unionized) full-time and temporary staff.Annual operation budget of $11,500,000.
