I coordinate and manage the selection and prioritization of future development projects, associated budget proposal(s) and management review defense, manpower and pilot plant resource scheduling. With current projects, I provide senior technical and managerial oversight to ensure proper technology delivery within schedule and capital budget allocations, and steward new technology commercialization. This requires cross-functional work relationships with Engineering, Analytical, Pilot Plant Operations, Technical Service, Modeling, Continuing Service, Sales Support, Sales and Marketing on a daily basis. I support UOP technology presence in the market place thorough authorship and presentation at industry conferences as well as focused technology discussion with clients on a global basis. I manage external technology collaborations and alliances, UOP's relationship with catalyst and additive vendors, and efforts to incorporate new materials and equipment developments in the overall FCC design. I manage internal and external data reduction and analysis, and yield estimating capabilities to support technical evaluation, performance benchmarking and technical sales, and responsible for risk management to ensure that UOP maintains proper representation of FCC technology to the market place. Fcc Technology Manager
Responsible for FCC technical sales to clients on a global basis. Worked with clients to understand their processing objectives and to identify which FCC technologies UOP could offer to help meet client needs; the scope of which can extend from minimal equipment modifications to multi-unit grass root complexes. Worked with Sales to review ITB documents and develop technical proposals, presentations and engineering agreements. This position required an active role at customer meetings for bid clarifications, technology updates, technical proposal review, and design basis meetings. It also required working with Development, Engineering, Key Mechanical Equipment and Technical Service to optimize UOP technology offerings to meet the client's objectives.
Fcc Technical Services
Responsible for FCC Technical Service support for UOP licensed FCC, RFCC and MSCC Units in 29 refineries world-wide. Responsibilities include both internal and external customer focus for: advanced troubleshooting, data evaluation, process optimization, marketing and sales support, engineering coordination and development, inspection services, process technology development, revamp and new unit construction support, "FCC Technology" and "FCC Corrosion & Fouling" course instruction. 2002 - UOP Special Recognition Award: Outstanding emergency startup services provided in Colombia, Israel and India; all during times of national crisis where interruptions of refining capacities were resulting in civil unrest.
Field Operating Services
Responsible for liaison between the client and UOP Technical Service, Engineering, Marketing & Sales, and Continuing Services. Responsible for operating instructions, personnel training, mechanical checkout, pre-commissioning and startup activities, performance guarantee testing and process optimization. Supervisor of instrument advisor and UOP startup crew as they train refinery operations and engineering personnel, and advise during commissioning, startup, day-to-day operation and emergency situations. FCC Chief Technical Advisor (Jamnagar, India): New unit construction - Worlds largest FCC Complex (205,000 BPSD), UOP High Efficiency FCC unit reactor and regenerator, parallel power recovery trains, main column unit and expanded gas concentration unit with two wet gas compressor trains. Complex optimization resulted in operation at 158% of design rates to achieve a total unit profitability of $9,000,000 per day. This complex moved India from being an importer to a world exporter of LPG, resulting in significant economic advancement for the nation. Extended domestic and overseas assignments included: Dagang, China; Balongon, Indonesia; Kralupy, Czech Republic; Sannazzaro, Italy; Leuna, Germany; Mina Al-Ahmadi, Kuwait; Sines, Portugal; Memphis, Tennessee; Ulsan, Korea; Livorno, Italy; Haifa, Israel; Meraux, Louisiana; Tyler, Texas; Abu Dhabi, UAE; Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia;
