Currently I am managing the maintenance for the large Audio Visual installation at the United Arab Emirates's World Expo Pavilion in Milan, Italy. I am running a small team who are providing first line support to the AV installation and Visitor Experience Display from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week. Comprising of a complex Watchout server system running 22 Panasonic DZ21K Projectors across two show experiences; a 180 Deg Cinema room and a 20 metre by 4 metre Peppers Ghost projection.

Working for ADT Fire & Security as an Installation Field Line Manager I was responsible for a team of installation engineers and subcontractors delivering security products (Intruder, CCTV & Access control) to the retail and commercial sector. Within this role my main responsibilities included day to day management and scheduling (assisted by a support administrator) and standard line management tasks such as quality auditing and health and safety compliance. Due to my technical abilities I was also able to assist the engineers with the more complex commissioning at our key clients installations.

Utilising skills and contacts from my work with Connaught I was able to put together an electrical business that I quickly built up into a full construction installation & maintenance company. Dealing mainly with commercial clients such as schools and housing associations I ran a team of multiple trades able to complete all tasks our clients required.

South Of England

As Electrical Supervisor for Connaught Partnerships I was tasked initially with putting together a full electrical compliance system for the branch office where we ran 3 local authority and housing association maintenance contracts. This involved working in line with the company policies and proving compliance to gain enrolment with the NICEIC. Once I had this in hand I was given extra contracts to oversee. Before Connaught went into administration I was handling 7 different contracts across the South of England. In the months prior to Connaught’s administration I was also in the process of setting up a standalone electrical division to handle all the specialist electrical services across the many contracts for which I was responsible for. The first part of this was addressing the feasibility of the project and setting out the financial plan to initiate and maintain it.

While employed by IS Networking Solutions I worked on a national project within the NHS side by side with IT infrastructure installation managers to design and install the client’s product. I was brought into the company initially to set up their much needed electrical division, including setting up their NICEIC branch enrolment which I carried out successfully. Working closely within a large IT installation company I was able to further cement my already high level of IT knowledge and gain valuable experience delivering a major IT based product on a very large national scale.

After leaving High School I completed my electrical apprenticeship with a small electrical company, RDW Electrical Ltd. I was very fortunate that the owner was a very experienced manager and had been involved with some very major clients in his past. I learnt a lot during this time and I quickly progressed up the chain of command. I was regularly involved in tasks such as estimating and client meetings.
