Applications Manager of the Information Services Ambulatory team that oversees Electronic Medical Record Systems for all Virtua VMG practices, Summit Surgical, and Surgical Services areas at Virtua Memorial, Virtua Berlin, Virtua Marlton and Virtua Voorhees. In addition, the team also supports IS applications at Virtua Health and Wellness Centers as well as outpatient Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy services . EMR systems that are supported include, but are not limited to, NextGen, PICIS OR, HealthMedx, TempTrack and Agility.

As an informaticist I have helped to lead the change for build, development, implementation, and support for Soarian clinical documentation, plans of care, and computerized physician order entry. I am responsible for the digital transformation in the following areas/departments: adults, pediatrics, PICU, respiratory, PT/OT/Speech and the Emergency Department. Currently I am the lead informaticist for Meaningful Use criteria. I am also the lead informaticist for identifying, capturing and implementing all clinical information system enhancement requests. This was based on a Yellow Belt Project that I identified and implemented based on using Six Sigma methodology.

Leader of a department that has over 130 nursing employees and sees over 70,000 patients annually. Responsible for all day to day activities as well as long term vision and goals for the team. Implemented, manages and maintains nursing schedule 100% on-line. Implemented email as the departmental standards for staff personal leave requests thus utilizing resource stewardship and “going green” philosophy. Implemented NEDOCS program as well as created a database by using Microsoft Access to track all NEDOCS related information. Created report functions within the database to track and utilize all NEDOCS entered data efficiently to improve workflow and throughput. Further development of emergency department website. Created patient experience video that runs continuously in the main waiting room. Created competencies for multi skill technicians directly on the Virtua VINE website. Increased patient satisfaction scores to greater than our target goal for the year of 68% while continuing to set records for patient volume. Lowest left without being seen by patients in the system as well as well below the national average. Implemented new processes in relation to streamlining workflow.
