Hi I'm Keith; A confident communicator, team player, problem solver and motivated individual. I am an electrical Design Engineer with a broad knowledge of the Solar PV & Energy Storage Industry. I have grown from my original STEM placement – expanding the business portfolio entering the ESS market - to becoming the head design engineer for all off-grid projects at AES. Beginning my professional career within a SME has provided me with invaluable experience the many facets the Energy industry. I began my journey within the energy sector in 2011 when I began tertiary education with Dundee University. This cemented my interest - having graduated with first class integrated master’s degree in Renewable Energy in 2016. Whilst in tertiary education, I studied all major renewable energy and energy storage technologies as well as the workings of the national grid. As a young professional I am constantly seeking personal and professional growth, to develop my skills and to develop my insights into the energy industry. I am currently a Member of the Institute of Electrical Technology with a view to obtaining professional chartership. I have a strong drive to achieve my goals and do not shy away from difficult or challenging situations. As a congenial person, I appreciate working collectively on projects and the forming of strong professional relationships. I have been involved in teamwork throughout my personal development; from groupwork at Boys Brigade to academic collaborations on my Master’s Thesis. I believe that constructive communication is particularly important as it prevents inefficiencies and mistakes.My passions include running, wild swimming, sustainable living and rugby. In my spare time I enjoy fitness challenges and working on electrical projects; Having designed and installed mobile off grid systems for friends as well as my own Desktop PC. I believe in giving back to the local community, as a STEM ambassador this allows me to promote STEM subjects and introduce future generations to sustainability.After the Glasgow Climate Change Conference (COP26) in November 2021 - The need to continue reducing carbon emissions locally is a poignant as ever – it begins at home and Scotland is in a prime position lead the way. It is clear that sustainable energy sources will play a larger role in the global energy mix in the years to come. As such, I am eager to play my part in improving the sustainability of our future.
