Oakview Camhs East Anglia

-I currently work part time as the CIA at Oakview East Anglia, alongside my TSW role at Childhood First. Oakview CAMHS East Anglia ia a tier 4 CAMHS neurodevelopmental inpatient setting.-I am responsible here for the maintenance of a variety of databases used within the psychology department, which has supported me to develop excellent skills in Excel.-My role also involves the analysis of risk related incidents (identifying antecedents and interventions) and then the subsequent summarising of this data for inclusion in CPA reports.-Within this role I support the psychology department through the scoring of psychometrics, (including the ABAS and WISC-IV).-As CIA, I am responsible for the production of monthly audits and ISR reports which inform practices at Oakview.

Earthsea House, Norfolk

-Earthsea House provides therapeutic care, treatment and education, and specialises in the treatment of children who present with severe emotional and behavioural problems, including sexualised behaviour, as a result of attachment difficulties usually rooted in early life trauma.-My role here is a therapeutic care worker to children between 7 – 12 years old who have been placed outside of their homes due to concerns for their safety within the home setting.-Here, I assist service users in their day to day life using a person-centred approach and offer therapeutic support using a systemic therapy approach.-Role involves acting as an attachment figure and caregiver for vulnerable young people who have experienced severe trauma, abuse and neglect and have associated emotional and behavioural issues.-Skills developed here include an understanding of the importance of reflective practice (with weekly group supervision and psychodynamic theory sessions) as well as developing an empathic and non-judgmental stance towards the young people in the home.

Oakview Camhs East Anglia

-This CSW role was within a CAMHS neurodevelopmental setting for adolescents presenting with mental health difficulties and associated challenging behaviours alongside primary diagnoses of LD and ASD .-Here I assisted service users in their day to day life, working according to the personal care plans of each individual in order to support them along their care pathway.-Role included assisting in the implementation of PBS plans.-Supported patients to complete their Outcomes Star.-Completed observational measures on occasion for specific patients as requested by the psychology department to inform treatment planning. -Role involved supporting and working alongside the MDT to support the patients to achieve their goals.-Skills developed here included increasing my relational security skills, building up my knowledge of the MHA, working within a person-centred but boundaried approach, developing my active listening skills and increasing my ability to resolve conflict in adaptive ways.

-This short term role involved assisting a young adult male who had experienced traumatic brain injury in his daily living needs.-Role involved supporting and assisting the client in achieving his personal short and longer term goals through supporting him in his daily living skills, community outings and work projects.
