Dr. Geraghty is a research fellow in primary care and a chartered psychologist in medical psychology. He has worked in higher education at some of the UK’s most prestigious Universities, including Imperial College London, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Cardiff University and University of Manchester. Based at the Centre for Primary Care and Health Services Research at the University of Manchester since 2016,, the Centre is acknowledged internationally to be one of the UK’s leading research centres for policy research in primary care and is a founding member of the prestigious NIHR School for Primary Care Research in England.Keith’s work covers a broad portfolio within health sciences,, focusing on patient care, from first visit to a GP, through to specialist referral and secondary care, and management in the community, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice and advancing the patient voice. He has published widely in some of the most influential scientific journals, such as the British Medical Journal, the Journal of the American Medical Association and Internal Medicine. Dr. Geraghty is an associate editor for the Journal of Health Psychology, Journal of Fatigue, Biomedicine, Health and Behaviour, an expert peer reviewer for the UK NIHR, MRC, Cochrane, and multiple scientific journals and organisations. Keith is a Chartered member (CPsychol), an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AfBPsS), and full member of the Division of Health Psychology, and his psychology research and consultancy covers conditions such as ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Long-Term Conditions (LTCs), Multiple Long-Term Conditions (MLTCs), Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS), Pain, Fibromyalgia, Burnout, PTSD, Distress and Medical Trauma, and chronic illness experience.
