Originally from Landisville, PA, I received my bachelors degree from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA, and now work at the Eastern York School District in York, PA. I was previously employed at Williams Valley School District in Dauphin County, PA. I currently teach music at Eastern York High School. My responsibilities include concert band, jazz band, marching band, and lessons, as well as courses in music theory, Intro. to Guitar, and Music Technology. I also serve as the audio visual coordinator for the EYHS Performing Arts Center and the assistant director for the spring musical. I have worked to continue the strong tradition of the Eastern York Marching Knights in the Cavalcade of Bands competitive circuit, overseeing an increase in enrollment from 17 the year prior to my hiring to over 55 students currently. Additionally, I serve on the executive board of the Cavalcade of Bands as Treasurer and successfully founded and organize the annual Golden Knight Classical, Eastern York's home band competition. I have had the pleasure of planning several band trips to Disney World and have assisted with several trips throughout the US in my positions as a directors assistant with the PA All-State Lions Band. I have expereince designing and buying new band uniforms and hosting a yearly DCI drum corps. I currently serve as the PMEA district 7 audition chair and have hosted York County Band, Schuylkill County Band, Lower Distirct 7 Band, and PMEA All-State Orchestra. I studied double bass performance with Duane Botterbusch and tuba pedagogy with Andrew Hitz and worked with the marching band, wind symphony, and symphony orchestra as a conductor and performer. I currently hold a position working as the assistant to the director of athletic bands in the Sunderman Conservatory.
