As Director of tourism research and engagement I am responsible for providing leadership in the functional areas of tourism industry research and intelligence, policy and strategic planning, and sector relations with key stakeholders including the regional tourism associations, destination management organizations, Golf PEI, Meetings and Conventions PEI, and the Tourism Industry Association of PEI.I am also the lead for Tourism PEI partnerships with inter-governmental and Federal, Provincial, and Territorial groups and act as the secretariat to Tourism PEI's Board of Directors and the Province's Strategy Implementation Committee.

Responsible for: the overall management of the Evaluation, Measurement & Business Intelligence Unit; providing comprehensive advise and recommendations, with appropriate analysis, assessment and evaluation of programs and activities within the Department; providing competitive intelligence monitoring and impact assessment; and contact oversight and maintenance for the Division.

Completed consultative report on the Public Service of Canada Career Fair Initiative. Including an analyses assessment of research and data collected from 2009-10 public service career fairs surveys; a comparative analysis of 2008-09 and 2009-10 career fair approaches and recommendations on how to proceed with future career fair initiatives within the current economic context. Member of Recruit Task Force, established by the Chief Human Resources Officer to develop a strategic plan for the launch of the 2010 post-secondary recruitment campaign. Supported a Public Service Management Advisory Committee (PSMAC) on People Resourcing. In a team environments, organized focus groups to gather the perspectives of human resources advisors, managers and employees on the current people resourcing systems across the public service, where it is working well, where it falls short of an “optimal” system, and where there are priority issues to be tackled. At a high level discussed strategic staffing initiatives for the Governmentof Canada and how to implement necessary changes. Helped write a consultative report to present the current gaps in the public service’s people resourcing systems and advice for Deputy Ministers and Central Agencies on how to address these gaps. Member of the implementation team assigned with facilitating the successful implementation of the Report’s recommendations. Lead on implementing a web 2.0 based tool to reduce duplication of work and to help organizeresources and best practices on People Resourcing for the entire Canadian Public Service. Implemented one of the first web 2.0 online consultations on a Government of Canada product. Prepared briefing notes, presentations and speaking points for my Director and Manager on our products and high-level strategic plans for staffing.

Fund Administrative Representative for a special retirement division team for a sister company of Ivesco called Aim Investments. This included the managing and monitoring of retirement based mutual funds for clients all over the United States of America.Received incoming cheques for investments and performed the necessary security checks before distributing the money in the proper mutual funds.Received and reviewed incoming applications for new plans or accounts, making sure all the necessary legal information was provided before creating the new plan(s) or account(s) on TRAC 2000 database.Accepted written letters of request to change customer account information, critiqued them to make sure the necessary legal documents were present before making changes to the client’s account.Team’s representative on the Social Committee which organized social events for the organization.
