I am President of JCC Consulting, Inc., where I specialize in high performance database systems and replicating data between database systems. I have extensive experience with OpenVMS and Oracle Rdb on OpenVMS. I have also worked with a variety of SQL and NoSQL databases on Linux and Windows environments as well as message servers such as Kafka. I have participated in the SQL Standards committees since 1988 and have served as the convenor of the international standards committee ISO/IEC JTC1 SC32 WG3 Database Languages since 2005.

In my time as convenor, WG3 had developed multiple generations of the SQL Standard (ISO/IEC 9075 Database Language SQL) and is currently working both on integrating property graph queries within SQL and on a separate Graph Query Language standard (ISO/IEC 39075 Database Language GQL).
