- Led a team of engineers to develop an automated “Smart Blinds” system that adjusts the height and angle of a set of blinds based on temperature and light sensorsDeveloped programs for three subsystems, each hosted on their own Arduino:- Sensor Subsystem: derived a low noise, time-optimized algorithm to determine ideal blind angleand blind height based on various sensor measurements- Mechanical Subsystem: automated the physical adjustment of the blinds using stepper motorsand limit switches to match the blind angle and blind height calculated in the above algorithm- User Interface Subsystem: managed communication between Amazon Web Services (AWS), aniOS application, and an Arduino in order to accept user input from an internet connection- Implemented Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) Communication Protocol across three Arduino’s for usewith wireless communication- Designed and implemented printed circuit boards (PCB’s) for each of the subsystems- Performed verification and validation of the “Smart Blinds” system; this required troubleshooting anddebugging, which led to the optimization and overhaul of the power subsystem
