When requested, I provide subject matter expertise in support for safety mishap investigations with LM flight safety and human performance training for LM test pilots. I also lead the multimodal human performance assessment and pilot augmentation initiatives within LM Aero and with collaborative partners. As the Human Performance Engineering Lab lead, I manage a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate research, integrate cutting-edge technologies, and develop operational / tactical applications of human performance measures and human-machine interface concepts for current 5th Gen and Next Generation cockpits. I am responsible for the integration of neurophysiological human performance sensing technologies in flight simulators for operational and training applications, as well as for cockpit design concept verification and validation. Correlative analyses of pulse oximetry, fNIRS, heart rate, respiratory, eye tracking, and aircraft state data provide contextual cognitive and physiological condition state information needed to influence design decisions and drive advanced cockpit intelligent agent alerting and augmentation.
