Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of International Accounts Production Product (Viztopia Accounts Production). At the time of my departure there were approximately 1,500 national firms of accountants using the product with recurring annual revenue of approximately £3m.Implemented full iXBRL support for Viztopia Accounts Production using MSXML for compatibility with VB6 platform.Responsible for all enhancements and compliance upgrades.Continued to use Visual Basic 6 (VB6) and ActiveX skills.Significant involvement in the development of CCH AP 2.0. Written in C# and SQL databases. My main role was data conversion from the legacy product which involved extensive use of XML and TFS with Agile.Lead involvement in the development of CCH AP 1.0. Written in VB .NET (some C#) using ADO .NET with some Access and SQL databases.

Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of all Viztopia software products including Viztopia Accounts Production and Viztopia Practice Management.During this period I extended the design and scope of the accounts production product and migrated it from just an accounting product to a full statutory compliance product.

I was involved in all aspects of the business including financial reporting, sales and software support.The company was started at a time when computerisation of accounts production in accountants’ offices was on a very small scale. We obtained an exclusive London dealership for a little known software package and we were very successful selling the software and related products, i.e. hardware, consultancy, training and support.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1974 I worked in the Accountancy profession and became a partner in a West End of London practice in 1975. I remained in the profession until I made the transition to the computer industry in 1983.
