 Operated and maintained 3 natural gas fired boilers providing high pressure steam for use throughout East Moline Correctional Center by using Programmable Logic Controllers to keep boiler flame, air, and drum level at correct levels. Interpreted daily chemistry readings of boiler/auxiliary water systems to apply necessary chemical additives. Used onsite materials to repair burst feedwater pipe in less than 5 hours at no cost to state, enabling boilers to resume providing steam for cooking, hot water, heat, and laundry services, and resulting in being personally thanked by warden. Creatively overcame budget limitations by using old bed frame to replace broken essential pipe support, saving the state money on materials and contracting and saving the prison’s population from loss of essential utilities.

 Managed dry absorbent injection emissions systems operations, once fired high-pressure cyclone through steam boiler operation, and maintained various auxiliary systems, including high voltage pumps, fans, and conveyors. Handled equipment/systems for coal delivery, ash handling, water treatment, and turbines, and resolved plant issues.
