In January 2015 I created a leadership training company (Keith Mallard Training Ltd.) with the aim of supporting teachers to become outstanding leaders and thereby to reveal their potential. Through Keith Mallard Training Ltd. I offer a long term training programme supporting teachers who wish to move to positions of middle leadership and covering all the necessary elements a successful middle leader will need to know. In addition I offer short training sessions for teachers, support staff and governors covering everything from raising achievement and attainment, managing data, preparing for Ofsted and behaviour management.

Through Keith Mallard Training Ltd. I am working as a mentor with several small businesses at both pre-startup and startup level.

Through Ambition Institute I am coaching a number of Middle-Leaders in their roles in school nationally and facilitate training sessions across the North East of England.

I provide role-play services to organisations to support them in assessing the skills of participants taking part in their training programmes.

As a Lead Mentor with NITE my role is to support trainee teachers through the PGCE. To facilitate this, I hold weekly training webinars, 1-2-1 coaching calls, assignment support webinars etc. I also deliver Fundamental Maths webinars to all trainees and have supported NITE through writing the Primary Computing course for publication on FutureLearn. As a Visiting Assessor, I am privileged to be able to visit trainee teachers in school, observe them teach and provide support and challenge to ensure that they are able to achieve their best and fulfil their potential.

Key responsibilities:Achievement (assessment and school-wide data management and use). Producing annual reviews of the results achieved and using these to write the self-evaluation document. Using RAISEOnline to analyse achievement and attainment data with a view to identifying areas of strength and areas for development. Leading on the assessment and monitoring of student progress throughout the year to identify students at risk of not achieving their potential. Strategic ICT. Working in collaboration with the Managed Service provider under the ‘Building Schools of the Future’ programme.Timetabling and curriculum design. Ensuring appropriate teaching staff are employed and deployed to ensure the best possible outcomes for students. Ensuring that students follow the best curriculum opportunities to maximise success, both in school and with external partners.Teaching and learning. Ensuring teachers are delivering good and outstanding lessons and where this may not have been the case providing the support and challenge necessary to achieve this outcome. Instigating CPD programmes across the school including: ‘Pathways to Senior Leadership’; ‘Pathways to Middle Leadership’ and ‘Research Projects’, the first two focusing on preparing teachers for career progression and included taught sessions by experts in school and the wider region and requiring participants to complete a school-based project leading to an improvement in the work of the school. The 'Research Projects’ programme was an opportunity for a teacher to research issues and make recommendations to the Senior Team on a potential policy or practice change within the school.Behaviour and safety. Ensuring that effective systems were in place to ensure that school-wide behaviour and safety, attendance and punctuality was good or better.
