Armed with a CA (SA) and dual-major accounting & economics graduate and post-graduate degrees, Keith McLachlan has a balanced foundation from which he has built a nearly two-decade-long investment career. His focus has been on fundamental investing, focusing on quality businesses while being cognisant of value and with a preference for strong, sustained growth. Across the years of his career, he has researched numerous large and small companies, was a rated sell-side analyst across both the small/mid-cap and the technology sectors, built and ran a successful small/mid-cap fund, managed a range of large-cap (on- and offshore) portfolios & advised into a range of other mandates (including private equity). He is currently the CEO of Element Investment Managers and the CIO of its sister company, Integral Asset Management. Amongst other things. He also writes fiction and plays the guitar in his spare time.
