I started Sting Security in August 1991 from scratch with no money, and progressively built it up into a thriving business that monopolised several suburbs in the northern area of Johannesburg. The company was structured with six armed response units, 6 Saracen armoured vehicles, a guarding division (187 guards), three technical installation teams, trackers, and private investigators. We also provided air support to our ground crews with a Robinson R40 helicopter that we subcontracted on and as and when required basis. Sting Security was purchased by ADT in 2002.
