Field Engineer
Raritan, Inc
Redmond, Washington, United States
Built, supported and expanded Raritan product line at fortune 500 companies. In one sale, sold $1.3 million in hardware/support infrastructure to Microsoft Office team. Increased footprint on Microsoft main campus from 4 data centers in 2006 to being the major supplier for SQL, Office, XBOX, EEC, Visual Studios and DevDiv. Deployed and installed Raritan enterprise power, KVM and DCIM solutions. Integrated third party equipment (Avocent, ServerTech, APC, Dell, HP) to work with Raritan solutions. Dedicated technical engineer for Microsoft, where I would work on “hot” issues until resolution. Worked with Volt, Veca and Cochran to ensure that the “plugs” for the PDUs would work and that there would be no electrical issues. Worked with Microsoft devs to search for solutions when a new version of Windows, AD, IE or other home grown software, would cause the Raritan product to break. Deployed hot fixes for Java updates. Initiated scripting updates for legacy PDUs. Migrated legacy analog equipment to newer digital solution. Used VM Ware and Hyper V to reduce footprint in racks and to help out with redundancy/failover.Large project: Built out Tukwila 3 data center with total Raritan solution. This entailed 200+ KX3 units, 100+ PDUs, 2000+ DCIMs, 2 CCSG units and 2 PowerIQ units.Deployed multiple CCSG (Command Center Secure Gateway) units to nearly every supported data center on campus and integrated with AD.Had “brown bag” lunches for new Microsoft hires as well as long term employees on a quarterly basis or as needed. Updated the customers on new features, roadmaps and “wish” lists. Worked daily in Salesforce updating tickets and responding to customer emails. I was on call 24x7 365 days a year exclusively for Microsoft.
