Hello,My name is Keith Quaranto. I graduated from Northern Arizona University's Health Sciences Physical Education and School Health teacher education program. I am currently the Lead Resource Teacher at Fairfax High School. I am the Varsity Defensive Coordinator at Fairfax High School. I finished my student teaching at Flagstaff High School and DeMiguel Elementary School for Physical Education. I am certified in CTE Medical, Health (7-12), Physical Education (K-12 passed NES test). I am proud of my work to this point, and look forward to continuing to grow and develop as a teacher during my career as a teacher.Statement on the Need and Purpose of Physical EducationWith obesity rates at an all time high, being physically active is very important in today’s demanding society. It is important that children of all ages understand and demonstrate how to stay physically active for life. As an educator I want to make sure that my students not only realize the importance and enjoyment of being physically active, but are able to inspire and motivate others to be physically active as well. I want my students to be a step ahead of everyone else because they are able to make an impact on their society.
