* Lead Completion Engineer for the ± $100 MM Garden Banks subsea development program. The program was PennzEnergy’s first deepwater subsea attempt and delivered two subsea, high-rate oil wells in 1,000’ of water to a host facility 7 ½ miles away.Responsibilities included: research and design of field development options; design and development of the subsea completion program; cost development and management; risk analysis of engineering design and operation practices; and active participation on a multi-company, multi-disciplined project team.* Member of the Engineering Technological Resources Team which was active in the role of consulting to PennzEnergy Asset teams around the globe. As a member, I was also responsible for: - providing global assistance with well completion options analysis, detailed design, and execution, - providing technical support evaluating completion efficiency and long term performance, - technology transfer of completion “best practices”, and - ensuring all asset engineers receive proper training on software and completion engineering techniques.

* Responsible for development of the Venezuela completion program. Worked in Maracaibo office to evaluate proposed drilling targets and develop a low cost, reliable completion program for the depleted sands in Lake Maracaibo. Capital constraints required maximum productivity with minimum costs.* Development options included: 1) open hole completions; 2) through-tubing, multi-stage, hydraulic fractures; 3) multi-lateral completions; 4) multi-stage, hydraulic fractures utilizing the rig to implement and test each zone; 5) drill-in screen/liner assembly to reduce rig time and provide exposure to ± 1200’ of laminated, low pressure sands; 6) underbalance, rigid foam drilling and completion to minimize fluid loss and sticking; and 7) pilot water-flood program using filtered and treated lake water.* Developed production forecasting tools to model multiple wells with various start dates and decline profiles. These tools were critical in allowing the Country Manager to fully evaluate the economics of the Venezuela program.* Trained Venezuelan staff in nodal analysis, stimulation design, completion design and AFE preparation and tracking processes. Arranged for several seminars and presentations to the Maracaibo staff on new and existing drilling and remedial techniques. These techniques would provide effective and cost efficient methods for applying the drilling & remedial program under the marginal economics of the field.

* Provided on-site engineering and supervision skills for the post-completion testing and development of two wells in the South Perth basin. I was stationed in Perth, W.A. as Pennzoil’s only representative on the Australian continent.* Designed and implemented post-completion remedial operations to mitigate emulsion and fines problems. Actions included isopropyl-alcohol treatments, through-tubing perforations and production logging. The treatment operations were completed as planned, ahead of schedule and with no injuries nor operational upsets. * Organized and implemented the demobilization and rehabilitation of the Whicher Range wellsite, including the breakdown and transport of all well site equipment and services and the restoration of the site to standards acceptable to the Western Australia Department of Minerals and Energy. Creatively arranged for the sale of all produced condensate and diesel to eliminate disposal difficulties and generated revenue from said sale.
