While working for Brighthouse I had various responsibilities, which included overseeing and assisting stores within the North East region to manage overdue accounts. I did this by receiving referrals, contacting customers and personally collecting money / goods due. This required me to manage my own time to arrange collection of money / goods, collate and submit financial reports and (when acting as department manager) departmental reports / results for senior management. As part of my daily duties I would visit and call customers to negotiate the return of goods and / or payments and this was always conducted within the existing legal framework for asset recovery and while complying with the Data Protection Act. I was sometimes required to travel nationally to train new Asset Recovery Managers and Drivers, and as part of my training role it was especially important that I kept abreast of legal changes regarding home access / goods retrieval. I am proud to say that I consistently achieved satisfactory customer contact as evidenced by 11 years in the role and only eight complaints were made, none of which were upheld.
