I serve as the Defensive Cyber Operational Planner of an Army Cyber Protection Team (CPT). My Job Qualification Requirement (JQR) status is senior level and I serve in the leadership element of the CPT. I conduct operational planning and intelligence synchronization in order to support my team in any mission, validation, or training environment. I review all unit current and future policies, strategies, and doctrine and serve as the Team Leads SME. My additional duties as a Cyber Operations Planner included but not limited to project management, unit specific training, customer and stakeholder engagements, mentorship to my fellow cyber warriors and data engineering. I also have extensive experience in the development of CONOPS, COA, and development of TTP when it comes to Discovery and Counter Infiltration.

I served as the Crew Lead for Mission Element 1 of Cyber Protection Team 169 of host and network analysts responsible for performing hunt, clear, harden, and access operations of key terrain in cyberspace. I am also a Master Gunner on the Deployable Defensive Cyberspace Operations Systems Modular (DDS-M), which is the primary tool of Army CPT's. Additional duties include serving as trainer, mentor and lead assessor for Bosnia and Herzegovina cyber team, working in conjunction with PEOEIS, State Partnership Program, and EUCOM. I also advise commanders at the national level on cyber operations and national exercises to include Cyber Shield, Cyber Blitz, and Cyber Yankee. While deployed on Task Force Echo 4, I was assigned to the Defensive Cyber Operations section as a data engineer and tier 3 support. My duties included writing code to parse and enrich network data into a common schema in Logstash and output to Kibana. I was also in charge of a working group that evaluated efficiency for auditing of network traffic and eliminating duplicate network and host logs, this lead to a 40% reduction in data at rest.

I was the first Warrant Officer in CPT 169 to be awarded the 170A MOS (Cyber Operations Technician). I also conducted Cyberspace Operations with US Cyber Command, 780th MI BN, 1st I/O, and Army Cyber. I was a system engineer and developer of the first US Cyber Command operation platform. My duties and responsibilities include systems concepts and capabilities phases of the systems development lifecycle. Analyze user needs and requirements to plan system architecture. Translate proposed technical solutions into technical specifications. Design system architecture or system components required to meet user needs. Write detailed functional specifications that document the architecture development process.Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information. Develop a system security context, a preliminary system security CONOPS, and define baseline system security requirements in accordance with applicable IA requirements. Provide input on security requirements to be included in statements of work and other appropriate procurement documents. Identify the protection needs (i.e. security controls) for the information system(s) and network(s) and document appropriately.

I served as an Information Services Technician for a higher headquarters element. My duties and responsibilities included but not limited to supervising and managing information system within the unit that touch the DoDIN, the units all tactical system to include communication systems and IoT devices. I also created an Information Assurance policy and implemented a cyber defense strategy to protect the units data at rest and active sessions within the DoDIN. I managed a section of three NCOs and five junior enlisted Soldiers. This responsibility included their mission readiness, mental and physical well being, and evaluating there overall job performance. During this time period I was able to promote 75% of my team and sent one Soldier to become a Signal Warrant Officer.
