I am now in a new position as Contracts Specialist working for CDM Smith seconded to LHDA as a PMU for the Lesotho Highlands Development Project Phase 2 involved in procurement, risk management and Contracts management for this massive water transfer project..I worked for a period of 5,5 years as the Chief Resident Engineer for the Supervision Consultant Contract with Stanley Consultants and am currently seeking another new challenge somewhere in the world. I have spent the past years 10 overseas from my home base of South Africa, working as the Team Leader involved with the supervision and contracts management of large infrastructure projects in both Vietnam and Doha. There was 1 year period in between these projects which was spent as Commercial Manager for a contractor in Dubai dealing with contractual claims and issues. My legacy during this period has been to mobilize and develop multi ethnic technical teams to successfully manage control and deliver high quality civil construction projects.Prior to moving overseas I was working with large contractors dealing with all their contractual business on projects in various African countries under various forms of Contract.I have a M.Sc. in Soil mechanics from Cambridge University; 7 years ago I finished a course in arbitration and contract law and became a Fellow of the Association of Arbitrators in SA. During my career I have completed many lengthy courses in construction law and project management.
