Responsible for ensuring high quality research, monitoring and evaluation underpins the design and implementation of programmes.- Monitoring and Evaluation lead for the Gates Foundation funded Voices for Development programme, delivered in partnership by Restless Development and VSO. Developed an innovative system to measure the impact of media on perception change.- Provided support to Country Programmes across Africa and Asia, ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation systems were in place for Direct Delivery programmes. Led and coordinated the development of baselines and project planning across seven countries.- Member of the IYE unit’s Management committee, supporting the ongoing development and implementation of the unit’s strategy. Monitoring and Evaluation lead for Global programme unit (UK-based programmes), which includes global advocacy; training and capacity building; and international youth engagement initiatives. - Created monitoring and evaluation system for all UK-based programmes, identifying appropriate indicators, approaches and information sources in order to understand programmatic impact.- Project managed external evaluations, including for an international capacity building programme and a UK-wide development awareness programme.- Built the evaluation capability of staff across the unit through training, support and the introduction of new methods and tools.- Analysed, interpreted and presented qualitative and quantitative data in reports to management team to ensure decisions are based on the analysis of programmatic data.- Played a major role in the development of a new four-year strategy for UK-based programmes, leading on the development of a strategic log frame.- Led the facilitation of monitoring and evaluation module at international capacity building workshops.- Built knowledge in most effective International Development monitoring and evaluation approaches and methodologies, engaging in practice sharing with leading development agencies.

Responsible for researching and writing 11 chapters of the IFLR1000; a guide to the world’s leading financial law firms. Each chapter provides an overview of a different country’s financial and corporate legal market.- Wrote 55,000 words in approximately two months, working to tight publication deadlines. Had to quickly understand complex financial concepts.Interviewed over 150 leading lawyers by phone and face-to-face.- Organised a research trip to Eastern Europe, visiting the top law firms in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia.- Kept up-to-date with developments in legal and financial markets by using a range of national and international media resources.- Built excellent working relationships with PR and marketing departments at the world’s top law firms.
