In my current position I wear a lot of hats. I’m currently responsible for making sure all dies and tooling are ready each day for our Bobst cutters and or Flexo press. If there are repairs needed to the die, blankers, or strippers I have to correct these as well as instruct the pre make ready people what they need to get ready for the day. I am responsible for all new designs that come through. My job is to consult with the cutting supervisor on changes to the carton design. If there are changes I will make these. I will take the approved carton and create samples for the customer on our plotter. Once these are approved and an order is established, I will create the layout. I will also create the vinyls on the plotter. Once this is done I will take the layout and design the die, tools, and counters needed for the cutting presses. I will send the files to our venders for production. If there are emboss areas, I will make sure these are places in the files for production as well. I keep track of all the orders that are sent out, as well as the cutting schedule each day. In the first quarter of 2012 I will be receiving addition structural design training so I will be able to design our carton at this facility. This is something I have worked with using the Cimex Cad design software we have.
