Keith graduated from London University in 1969 with a degree in Sociology and joined IBM in 1970 as a Salesman, and then took on various roles in Sales and Marketing Management. In 1990 he was instrumental in setting up IBM’s association with Wimbledon as Official Supplier of IT Consultancy and he is still involved today as Tennis Consultant to the project.Keith left IBM’s full-time employment in 1993 to focus on a tennis initiative he had created to provide indoor tennis training facilities for children, based in Sutton. Subsequently, this evolved into Sutton Tennis Academy, which became internationally recognised and was a training base for over 100 players who played at Wimbledon and/or who became world-ranked. Further developments created The Sports Village, to provide opportunities for young people in sports other than only tennis.A temporary attempt at “retirement” was made when the business was sold in October 2016, but a long-standing passion for cars led Keith and his son, James, to buy a prestige car showroom and workshops in Ripley, Surrey, (in February 2017) as the foundation for Renaissance Classics, with a focus on Porsche and BMW, but not excluding other interesting Classic and Emerging Classic cars, including Ferrari and Maserati.Keith’s other business interests have involved property development, the music industry and importing wine. His competitive amateur sporting interests have involved motor racing, cricket, tennis, skiing, squash, and Real Tennis, but now only golf and the occasional track day.
