From school I worked as a lifeguard, which taught me discipline and people skills, but it wasn’t my passion. So I worked in the photographic industry. It gave me new skills and an appreciation of photography. I moved into Film as film as a cataloguer, I starting seeing the bigger picture of my life and knew where I wanted to be next. At Visnews/Reuters I worked as a library assistant and progressed to an assistant librarian. This carried on at ITN where we went into the digital age and found myself using New and more advanced systems to capture and store the increasing workload and ever tighter deadlines. After a short break I took on the position of Librarian at Microsoft restructuring and reorganising the library to make it relevant and cost effective. I also Restarted the internal Exam system Coordinating and Invigilating exams. Whilst working there the Exam Centre received Centre of Excellence Status for the very first time. I switched to Cobham Helicopters Services as their Tech Librarian helping them through a transition period which meant moving locations and helping streamline the process and train up new staff. One of my passions in life is Gin so to that end. I joined a distillery’s events team working across the South East of England. Selling to customers face to face and sharing my knowledge so they could make informed choices. After the Covid break I carried on Invigilating working in both the private and public sector. I’m personable, I like to work with a smile and I’m passionate about what I believe in. I’m equally happy on a team or on my own. They say you never stop learning and over the last few years I can say with authority that it’s true.
