I worked as the Lead Engineer through the Engineering Services Department (ESD) Operating Services group for the $850+ million overhaul of the 6 generation/pumping units at the Ludington Pumped Storage project. We worked on one unit at a time, and removed and replaced/refurbished every major component. My role as the lead engineer entailed coordinating and directing Consumers Energy's engineering effort, and interfacing with Toshiba International Corporation's design, engineering, and construction staff. I also served as a technical resource in civil engineering and infrastructure issues, and as an expert in concrete and grout (the plant has about 450,000 cy of concrete).
