I first started working full time when I was fourteen years old in the retail business. Once I graduated from high school I went full time in the U.S. Army as a medical specialists. After a 8 year career and moving through the ranks in the military I retired and went back full time in the civilian occupation. I started out in 1994 in a small coatings/stamping plant as a Lab Technician where I learned how to test our batches, put data on flow charts, analyze the data for patterns and make adjustments based on data. In 1997 I moved on to another company in the automotive industry where I was a team leader in the surface treatment department. My main role there was to be a leader in safety, lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, learned TPM, 5's and Kaizen strategies. I also rolled over my skills as I also continued my lab technician work and also worked in our waste water treatment departments for my 8 years there. I moved up to manage the whole department over three shifts at the Group Leader role. I wanted a change of pace and went back to the ground floor in my next job over at PepsiCo in 2006 as a general worker in our filing, labeling and batch making process in the Gatorade division in the Indianapolis facility. I learned how to operate different types of equipment and specializing in the batch making process and doing more Lab Technician work while I was there also. I also was sent down to Florida at one segment to learn our new label machinery for a week when we were bringing in a new product. There we learned the set up, maintenance and interaction of all the parts in order to operate it safely and effectively. After my stint with PepsiCo I went to Lord Corporation and started out in the manufacturing floor as a chemical operator on the ground floor. I have moved up to a Group Leader role in our manufacturing departments and then moved into my current role as Associate Materials Coordinator.
