The Surgical Services Service Level Alliance has been established to enable collective multidisciplinary leadership across surgical services for Canterbury. The purpose of this Surgical Services Service Level Alliance is to lead the continuous improvement of all surgical services for Canterbury. In particular, the scope includes improving patient flow from the time of decision being made that surgery is indicated through to the completion of the intervention, the makeup of the departmental workload, the achievement of health targets and Elective Services Performance Indicators compliance, and ensuring a fit-for-purpose Acute Services facility and workforce. The aim is to achieve efficiency of use of the available resources and achieve the best health outcomes possible with these resources.
