POSITION DESCRIPTION:Nature and Scope of PositionAn Area Sales Manager reports to a Region Director, and will be responsible for managing PBC business with our largest distributors in an assigned geography. This position will serve as a direct point of contact for our distributor network. It will be sales growth and retail execution focused. The position is tasked to transfer company growth objectives to the street level by various methods, including, but not limited to: forecasting, planning, conducting sales and business meetings, retail trade work-withs, chain sales calls, and in market surveys. At various times throughout the year, it may be required to present plans and objectives to senior leadership. This position may or may not have direct reports. The AM is responsible for achieving the Company’s sales efforts in the market by:• 40% of time to be spent with distributor interaction • 40% of time to be spent at retail • 20% of time spent on PBC administration and functionsSpecific Objectives and Responsibilities• Ensure the continued sales and profit growth of PBC products• Complies with all PBC policies and procedures, ensuring that all activities are conducted within Local, State and Federal Laws• Represents the Company in a positive manner• Work cooperatively with all other functional departments outside of Sales• Execute the company’s brand strategies, executional standards and marketing programs • Responsible for distributor specific objectives• Manage, educate and motivate the distributor’s sales force• Ensure that the distributors carry sufficient stock to properly service the market and avoid out-of- stocks, and that orders are placed with sufficient lead-times• Participate in necessary trade events (industry, retail and/or consumer)• Ensure that all Company expenditures are within budget
