Working at Ladbrokes retail as a Manager in various shops I have been trained in multiple skills such as money handling, bet taking and resolving, customer wellbeing, despite management and resolution, fraud prevention, online promotion to mention but a few of the necessary skills to ensure that the customer receives a transparent and safe environment to enjoy their Ladbrokes experience whilst complying to the regulations that surround the industry.

I started this company to allow me to trade through my time at university and whilst i seek permanent employment.Trading as K Photography I have taken on various roles including portrait work both in a studio environment and on site, covered various events from party’s to weddings including commercial PR work. Using a studio facility, I have been commissioned to provide still life images for various manufactures as well as individuals.

Starting as part of the photographic sales team my duties include encouraging visitors to be photographed at the blue and green Chroma key screens in various poses and instructing them how to view the photographs at the POS desk. Photographic duties also included taking images of animal feeds performed by the customers and photo opportunities such as the Santa grotto at Christmas. At the POS desk I would display the photographs and sell them using the various products to the customers, taking every opportunity to up-sell at all opportunities as well as helping other members of the team as required and carrying out any other duties that present themselves to me. Having worked at EPT for 6 months I was promoted to Training coordinator. Besides the duties mentioned above I am responsible for the training of all staff and the induction of new staff. I also have the responsibility of revising all the training, instruction, staff monitoring, and miscellaneous documents as well as monitoring the staffs performance from sales assistant through to the manager.

Dealing with the procurement for the specialist sales and break fix departments my responsibilities included the sourcing and purchasing of various and diverse products, tracking them through the delivery process and resolving any issues that arise, then closure of the job and producing and sending the invoice to the customer or engineer.

I took the opportunity to become a sole trader and my main responsibilities were sales, pricing of projects; installation and maintenance of data cabling, intruder alarms, fire alarms, nurse call systems, CCTV, door access, telecommunications, mechanical locks, electrical and liaising with trades personnel to ensure productivity was maintained at all times. I was also responsible for recruiting of Engineers and Shop Floor staff; absence management; training and development for existing and new employees. The company also had a retail outlet were I was responsible for account management including VAT and PAYE; stock management, selling and merchandising of all products.

I started as an apprentice, training covered all aspects of the telecommunications network; qualified as a Technician, and my main responsibilities were installation and maintenance of data communications. I was also responsible for report writing, planning, project design and management, with up to ten engineers, to ensure ongoing productivity at all times.
