Decommissioning the Domino infrastructure - email and applications

Investigate and resolve mail server performance issues, day to day support of Domino infrastructure including Blackberry.

Applications support, engineering support. Evaluation and implementation of antivirus systems for Domino mail servers. Application server consolidation. Server and user upgrades.

Design, test and build of a new Domino R5 server environment.

Client compatibility testing, anti-virus evaluation, email gateway for Glaxo and SB merger.

Consultancy and training services for the messaging team. Design, test & build new clustered Domino R5 server environment. Evaluation and implementation of Domino anti-virus services and message auditing services. Provision of Domino based fax service.

Deployed Notes/Domino globally, installed and upgraded infrastructure to support new messaging platform.

Provide Notes/Domino consultancy services. Design and build messaging and applications infrastructure.

Second term at Sony Music Operations, implementing the Lotus Notes/DominoView product to enable centralised reporting and control of the European Region Notes/Domino servers. Upgraded all production servers from OS/2 v2.11 to OS/2 Warp Connect and implemented IBM TCP/IP v3.0 on the servers. He is currently investigating the Compaq Insight Manager product with a view to installing to allow for further centralised control of servers.

Responsible for the support, maintenance & development of a suite of Notes/Domino applications which are used in the development of new drug compounds. These 30+ databases are replicated around the world across two SB Notes/Domino domains, and are used to hold large quantities of research and regulatory documentation in the form of embedded Word objects. Developed a system to allow for the production of “publication quality” documentation from these multiple Word objects, the system involved the use of Notes/Domino Macro programming, DDE calls and Word Basic with a Notes/Domino front-end control system. Also responsible for end user support of UK & European users and for backup enduser support for US users.

Brought in as a consultant to evaluate Notes/Domino antivirus product "Watchdog" and to produce a strategy for updating Notes/Domino client & server platforms.
