Senior Vice President for Acute Care Operations, including 12 hospitals stretching from Greenville to Columbia, S.C. Prisma Health is the largest not-for-profit health system in South Carolina with 30,000 team members and annual net revenues of $5.2B. Acute Care Operations encompass 16,700 employees, 2,000 occupied beds, 112,000 discharges, 450,000 E.D. visits, 97,000 surgeries, and 1,500,000 adjusted patient days.• Accelerated and optimized standardization of business practices, clinical protocols, and care delivery processes across acute care operations.• Developed comprehensive framework for monthly operations reviews, key performance indicators, and action planning with heavy emphasis on driving for results. Restructured hospital c-suites to create high performance leadership teams with defined accountabilities and expectations. • Exceeded Net Revenue budget in FY21 (during COVID-19 pandemic) by $321M. • Gain from Operations of $668M exceeded budget by $20M in FY21. • Operating Margin of 16.3% in FY21 exceeded Prior Year of 14.4%. • Led development of business plan & subsequent opening of kidney transplant program at Greenville Memorial Hospital in 2022. Finalized organ procurement agreement, signed an HLA and received UNOS approval in September 2021• Led development of plans to implement e-ICU in all community hospitals across Prisma Health, in conjunction with Aurora-Advocate as our clinical partner. Launched two initial pilot sites in 3rd quarter of CY2021.• Developed four (4) Observation Units to manage OBS status patients more effectively. In partnership with Versalus, lowered % of Observation heads-in-beds through improved documentation and coding; and reduced Observation length of stay from an average of 50 hours to <30 hours.• Acute Care hospital Quality Score exceeded target in FY2020 and FY2021 with aggregate scores of 101 and 114 in respective years. All 7 Upstate hospitals achieved A-grade from Leapfrog for patient safety.
