I am a former Vice Chair at Bank of America. Prior to my retirement in 2024, I was Chief Investment Officer of the Pension and Benefits Plan responsible for all investment related matters for the pension, defined contribution and deferred compensation plans.I served as a member of Bank of America’s Chief Executive Officer’s Management Committee, Bank of America Charitable Foundation Board and the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Committee, and was a member of the Global Diversity & Inclusion Council.Previously, I was Vice Chair and Head of the Investment Solutions Group (ISG) at Bank of America which included the Chief Investment Office, Investment Products and Platforms, Capital Markets, Investment Specialists, Alternative Investments and Specialty Asset Management. ISG supports Merrill Wealth Management, Bank of America Private Bank, Retirement & Personal Wealth Solutions, and Consumer Investments. Prior to being named Vice Chair in 2017, I served as president of U.S. Trust, Bank of America’s Private Bank spanning 5,000 employees. During my nine-year tenure, I led the organization through the consolidation of the U.S. Trust business following the acquisition from Charles Schwab in 2007.Earlier in my career at Bank of America, I served as president of the Global Wealth & Investment Management (GWIM) business, which included Premier Banking and Investments, Columbia Management Company, and U.S. Trust.I joined Bank of America in 2004 following the FleetBoston Financial merger. I served as President and Chief Investment Officer of Columbia Management Company for three years. Prior to this, I held the roles of CEO and Chief Investment Officer in the asset management organization of FleetBoston Financial. Before joining FleetBoston in 2000, I served as Managing Director and Head of U.S. equity for JP Morgan Investment Management. During my 16 years at JP Morgan, roles included global head of equity research, head of U.S. equity research and a portfolio manager and equity research analyst for the chemical and textile industries. I began my investment career as an equity research analyst at Home Insurance Company in 1981.I earned my bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University, graduating with high honors and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In 2019, I was inducted into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni. I earned my MBA in finance from Columbia Business School. I am a Chartered Financial Analyst.I am a frequent commentator on CNBC, Fox Business and Bloomberg.
