Joined as a graphic designer, quickly promoted to senior designer and then promoted to Head of Digital Design. During this time achieved and performed the following: • Responsible for designing and creating all the online graphics for the UK’s largest selling tabloid.• Managed a team of 6 designers, producing both editorial graphics for the online newspaper, and developing new features and designs for the website and iPad.• Redesigned the site in full 3 times, as well as large aspects of the Fabulous Magazine site, Captain Cash site and the Children’s Champions site.• Primarily used Photoshop, but used Illustrator and elements of InDesign. News of the World had an in-house CMS but also used Dreamweaver on previous versions of the site. Working knowledge of Flash.• The website was the first tabloid newspaper to be a paid for site. Prior to that helped take the site from nominal web traffic in 2005 to approximately 1 million unique users a week, and a nomination for newspaper website of the year 2009. • Created weekly graphics for the print edition of the paper (which had a circulation of 3m).• Worked closely with marketing department to promote the site digitally and in print, as well as promoting other brands across the site.• Produced editorial graphics for The Sun newspaper online.
