Group Chief Investment OfficerBoustead Singapore Limited Apr 2021 - PresentSgPromoted to the C-Suite and Group Chief Investment Officer, I have enjoyed a long and fruitful career with Boustead Singapore Limited (Boustead), a listed corporation on the SGX Mainboard which is Singapore's oldest continuous business organisation with an illustrious heritage since 1828. Today, Boustead is a progressive global Infrastructure-Related Engineering and Technology Group with annual revenue of over S$700 million.Promoted to Group Chief Investment Officer, I am deeply honoured to be leading Boustead's investments and seeking out opportunities to compete and transform in an Industry 4.0, technology-driven and climate change-concerned world. My aim is to deliver the vision of Boustead’s 5th business transformation over the past two (2) centuries.2024 was memorable. I helped to delist Boustead Projects Limited (BPL) and establish the Boustead Climate Reporting Framework using Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).Coming full circle on BPL's life as a listed organisation, I was the Leader in the C-Suite for the complex delisting of BPL, which spanned over one (1) year and was executed with both a voluntary unconditional general offer and subsequent exit offer, culminating in the successful delisting on 9 February 2024. This corporate exercise not only set numerous important precedents in Singapore's corporate history and SGX's Listing Rules but also defined the boundaries for important changes in the Companies Act (in the context of privatisations) and required a multitude of diverse social and technical skillsets to coordinate and navigate the complex and at times, conflicting regulatory requirements and stakeholder engagements. Intense communication and coordination took place across no less than 18 stakeholder groups. This represents Boustead's largest acquisition (at about S$400 million valuation) and most important corporate exercise - the successful remerger and delisting of BPL. -
Senior Vice President - Group Corporate Marketing & Investor RelationsBoustead Singapore Limited Apr 2016 - Apr 2021SgPromoted to Senior Vice President (the youngest non-family member promoted to this position in Group HQ), I continued to spearhead and be responsible for the areas of corporate branding, communications, digital marketing, investor relations and media relations under the integrated Corporate Marketing & Investor Relations Team.Some key responsibilities included:- Official spokesperson;- Effectively engaging stakeholders through external and internal communication channels;- Branding, strategic marketing and corporate communications;- Collaborating on a second rebranding and repositioning exercise during my tenure;- Investor relations and meeting with fund managers who manage equity investment portfolios with asset sizes of more than US$100 billion (including bringing in Fidelity as a substantial shareholder);- Group Longevity Reporting Champion (also known as Sustainability Reporting Champion);- Managing the S$50 Million Cash Management Programme to generate optimal returns on excess cash;- Researching, analysing and conducting due diligence on M&A and investment opportunities; and- Executing business continuity and resilience plans during the pandemic, particularly prior to the unprecedented Circuit Breaker.My constant challenge was to ensure that the brand identity of the Group's key business units is compatible and progressive, and communications are accurate, consistent, responsible and synergistic across the Group. In 2016, I took on the challenge of being Leader and Group Longevity Reporting Champion in establishing the Boustead Longevity Reporting Framework. The Corporate Marketing & Investor Relations Team delivered the framework and also the award-winning inaugural Boustead Singapore Limited (Boustead) and Boustead Projects Limited (BPL) FY2018 Longevity Reports, as further detailed under Projects.I undertook the above mentioned responsibilities for two (2) listed entities: Boustead and BPL. -
Vice President - Group Corporate Marketing & Investor RelationsBoustead Singapore Limited Jan 2009 - Mar 2016SgPromoted to Vice President, I continued to spearhead and be responsible for the areas of corporate branding, communications, digital marketing, investor relations and media relations under the integrated Corporate Marketing & Investor Relations Team. In this position, I was exposed to and trained in several new areas, primarily debt financing, enterprise risk management, investments, M&A and treasury activities. The integrated Corporate Marketing & Investor Relations function which I had helmed as a single contributor also finally became the Corporate Marketing & Investor Relations Team during this period.During this period, I helped to deliver several important projects as either the Leader, Co-Leader or a Core Team Member, as further detailed under Projects. My roles included:- Leader on the establishment of the S$50 Million Cash Management Programme and as a key decision-maker on the two-person Group Investment Committee running the programme;- Leader on the establishment of the Boustead S$500 Million Multicurrency Debt Issuance Programme;- Co-Leader of the Group Enterprise Risk Management Project Team that established the Boustead Enterprise Risk Management Framework; and- Core Team Member on the Boustead Projects Limited (BPL) Listing Team that successfully demerged and listed Boustead's Real Estate Solutions Division, BPL, on the SGX Mainboard.After the listing of BPL, I undertook the above mentioned responsibilities for two (2) listed entities: Boustead Singapore Limited and BPL. -

In this position, I built upon earlier foundations, cultivating the trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly the investment community, media and shareholders.Strategically, Boustead's brand reputation in Singapore's business landscape was significantly boosted by the Group's most visible special celebration and event of the period, the Boustead 180th Anniversary. I was the Leader of the Organising Committee for this special celebration and event, as further detailed under Projects. -

Most of my first three (3) years with Boustead were spent to rebrand and reposition Boustead including designing and copywriting the Group's first corporate brochure with streamlined positioning of divisions and businesses, and designing, copywriting and upgrading Boustead's digital presence with total redesigns and redevelopments of the Group's website and five (5) business units' websites. Full-Time National ServicemanSingapore Armed Forces Apr 1996 - Jul 1998SgMy first experience of Singapore life was serving in the Singapore Armed Forces. This was part of my national service obligation as a Singapore citizen and also one of my contributions to nation building.Trained as part of the first batch of paramedics in Singapore, it was both a deep honour and most meaningful to be part of the life-giving and life-saving force during this period. I also enjoyed being the 2nd-in-charge of operating Changi Air Base Medical Centre, Head of the Medical Emergency Team and leading a team of paramedics.
