As a consultant I work with leaders from the private, public and voluntary sectors to help them manage change designed to enhance the effectiveness of their organisations. My approach is based on an understanding of organisation as a system which needs to manage its present, create its future and nurture its identity in order to maintain performance and respond to changes in the world around it. I help clients think differently and make meaning in a new way: this is usually a prerequisite of sustainable change. I am also a writer, researcher and teacher on the overlap between church, theology and organisation studies. I am a Visiting Scholar at Sarum College and lead on the college's leadership development and consultancy work. My PhD research explored the Church of England's 'Renewal and Reform' programme from both organisational and ecclesiological perspectives. I also undertake research assignments for the Susanna Wesley Foundation at the University of Roehampton. 'Creating the Future for the Church', my book applying principles of organisational success to the Church of England, was published in 2013. In all this I am an Anglican priest with a passion for finding ways of recognising and realising the 'connectedness' of life and breaking down the barriers that separate the silos of contemporary society.
