Oversaw sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations and scope documentation with 3rd party partners and managed onshore/offshore functional and technical project teams of up to 35. CHALLENGE: Recruited by Syron Engineering and Manufacturing (a high-growth company purchased by Norgren in 2003) to maintain the cost of quality while doubling manufacturing throughput.Steered efforts to streamline and improve manufacturing processes, generate new efficiencies and enhance QA at the source of production. Managed Mechanical and Electrical QA departments, oversaw pre-production planning and APQP and coordinated measuring machine programming (PC-DMIS, Reflex, Virtual DMIS, GeoMeasure).HIGHLIGHTS✦ Modernized and aligned Syron’s Quality Assurance approach, engineering QA into the manufacturing design process.✦ Reduced QA costs by maintaining staffing levels throughout high-growth (36%) phase.✦ Initiated cultural shift by transforming QA department from safety net (reactive) to manufacturing conscience (proactive).✦ Implemented virtual pre-production quality system and gage calibration and maintenance program for inspection equipment.
