Responsible for the successful launch and accuracy of the organization’s print and digital publications from initial conception through completion of the publishing processes according to the publication’s style and editorial policy. Develop and implement plans to promote and preserve the organization’s publications to maximize their educational, economic, marketing, and advertising potential. Oversee and manage the activities and performance of the editorial and production teams and related vendor relationships.Duties and responsibilities include: *Monthly publication of Modern Steel Construction magazine, including editorial direction, production aspects, budgeting and technical review of content.*Serve as Managing Editor of Engineering Journal (including active participation on the EJ Review Board) and oversee the quarterly production of the publication.*Manage the creation and production of all Design Guides, Manuals and other publications, including technical, marketing and certification publications.*Develop publication budgets, establish production schedules, and coordinate work assignments for the editorial and production teams.*Coordinate the organization of the AISC online bookstore.*Develop and maintain pages featuring AISC publications and documents on the AISC website.*Evaluate and recommend publishing platforms.*Direct and evaluate the services provided by publication distribution vendors.*Responsible for organization and management of the AISC library.*Stay abreast of practices and standards in publishing, advise Vice President of Communications when changes to policy may be required.*Review, evaluate and implement improvements to AISC website.*Participate in NASCC activities as required

Secretary of the Certification Standards Committee, which creates the standards for AISC’s quality certification program.Responsible for technical library, including acquisitions and cataloging. Managed the digital conversion of over 2,300 documents.Editor of AISC's Engineering Journal, a quarterly technical journal. Responsibilities include: receive and evaluate submittals; assign reviewers and track review progress; chair review board meetings; provide technical editing of content and figures; review final page layouts; produce mass communications to subscribers.

Responsible for all production aspects of the monthly trade publication Modern Steel Construction, including copy editing, page layout, ad placement, graphics, and proofing. Created and implemented a redesign of magazine typography and graphic style. Managed an associate editor as well as an advertising sales consultant. Responsible for postal and subscription issues. Developed magazine web site and launched a digital edition. Assisted with planning the North American Steel Construction Conference and produced promotional materials.

Developed a metric edition of the AISC Manual of Steel Construction, Second Edition. Responded to technical assistance inquiries and assisted in managing an academic research program.

Provided structural design and construction administration on a variety of low and mid-rise institutional buildings in structural steel and reinforced concrete. Provided structural design services for large private residential projects in both timber and structural steel. Experience documenting existing conditions and designing structural repairs and retrofits for timber structures.
