I am an experienced commercial chartered accountant with people and stakeholder management skills developed through operating at a senior level in corporate restructuring (20 yrs) pensions advisory (15 yrs) and as a professional pension trustee.This has involved working inclusively and collaboratively with actuarial, legal and investment advisers, the Pensions Regulator, the Pension Protection Fund, banks, bond holders and shareholders to help integrate the management of covenant, investment and funding risk.Clients have included single, multi-employer & industry wide schemes with assets ranging from £10m-£2bn. Sponsors range from charities and private companies to complex international and UK listed groups and private equity backed businesses.I have been involved in numerous transactions involving pension scheme stakeholders. These have included apportionment arrangements, sales, acquisitions, refinancing, private equity transactions, reorganisations and restructuring including the use of contingent assets. This has included clearance applications with the Pensions Regulator (tPR) and, in the case of distressed restructurings, consultation with the Pensions Regulator and the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) to optimise outcomes for the business, the scheme and all stakeholders. I have acted for schemes on a number of substantial corporate and pension scheme restructurings involving scheme apportionment and PPF entry via Regulated Apportionment Arrangements.
