In March 2020 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I gratefully began my new role with The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation as Director of Development – Southeast, focusing on the Southeastern United States based in our Nation’s Capital.United States Marines make legendary sacrifices; sending their children to school shouldn’t be one of them. That’s why the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation was established in 1962 to honor Marines by educating their children. The Scholarship Foundation is the nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children and the only scholarship program awarding 100% of all eligible applicants. The 55,000 scholarships it has awarded, valued at nearly $200 million, have delivered impact far beyond tuition assistance. They give opportunity to born leaders to create transformational outcomes.I began my Not for Profit Career with The Salvation Army. My roles here included Major Gifts Officer-TSA National Capital Area Command, Director of Development-TSA Loudoun County, VA, and Major Gifts and Development volunteer, Washington DC Headquarters.My marketing career path and education have provided me the highly transferable training, background, and skills to be successful in generating resources to apply to programs and campaigns in the nonprofit sector. This experience includes work with Fortune 200 Companies, startup’s, and acquisitions.
