Took Shopsy from a semantic e-commerce concept to a fully functioning web site. Built the back-end systems in Java/PHP/mySQL/AWS-EC2 for automatically generating clothing ensembles based on similarity of items and automatic image color matching. Built an email notification system (MailChimp integration), user authentication, and Javascript/JQuery front-end. Launched the fully functional beta site in September 2011.

Created the Ask SEO business in Q3-2009, where my focus was on generating revenue for Ask by using SEO to drive monetizable query traffic to Ask.com. Built and then operated 31 web properties, generating over 2MM page views per day and over $3M/quarter of profit. SEO engineering efforts in C/C++/Java included data/query mining and analytics, building automatic text generation systems to circumvent duplicate detection algorithms, and employing linking strategies to boost ranking metrics. Ran Teoma Search Offline/Classification/NLP/Metrics groups (>50 engineers). Projects designed/delivered include Spam and filtering systems, Page Quality and Vertical Classifications, Foreign Language Identification, and other relevance systems. Built various search back-end systems including some Search Suggestion systems as well as index freshness systems (recognition of new domains as well as domains that migrated towards or away from spam/domain parks).I frequently represented Ask.com as a speaker/panelist at Search Engine Strategies (SES) Conferences.

Within the Motorola Semiconductor Division, I performed inside sales and technical marketing functions for the TDMA/GSM mobile wireless software and hardware platforms. Sales activities focused on working with the Motorola Handset Division to adopt the Telogy Platform. This effort was successful, and the Telogy platform was shipped in Motorola phones. Duties additionally included platform sales to merchant market customers, presenting product roadmaps, and generating business plans, program plans, and marketing and technical specifications.For Telogy Networks, had P&L responsibility for fixed-price technology development contracts with major telecommunications companies for building Telogy-developed technology into customer systems. Built/Managed the ANSI-136A TDMA Mobile Signaling Stack, IS-707 CDMA Data Protocol Stack, ATM NIC Card, Internet Protocol Stack, Telogy’s Real-Time Operating System (MXP), and a Portable Protocol Abstraction Layer. Other management functions include generating/presenting proposals, developing architectures and high-level designs, scheduling, resource loading, software process definition, managing 3rd party software vendors, expense and capital budgets, and personnel development.

Built/Managed Internet Router/Bridge/Switch and Statistical Multiplexer Data Communications products including: Series 2000 IP Router/Bridge (OSPF/RIP/EGT/802.1D), T1/E1 Interface Card, and VCX 1000 Terminal Server Card. Transitioned the organization to ISO9001 development process standards, required for shipping products internationally.
