I worked under the direct supervision of the System Engineering Department to insure safe operation of the nuclear power plant. I was able to participated in many projects including, modeling the cooling system/correlating the model via ultra sonic flow meters. The results of my data pinpointed an undiagnosed problem that the plant had been dealing with for 3 years. Other projects include vertical turbine pump replacement. I worked with vendors and made recommendations that resulted in the successful replacement and commissioning of the pumps. I also participated with data logging and history archiving for all of the systems being modified or maintained. I also had the opportunity to take numerous classes on power plants systems and how they interacted.
