Initially working on an on-call basis, took on longer-term postings at two client sites:1. Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA): Kearney Lake COVID Assessment Centre (March 2020 to July 2020)Initially serving as a visible presence in support of nursing staff, I shifted into a frontline patient communication and education role. I guided patients through the first stage of the clinic's intake process, including proper handwashing and facemask application, and their journey in and out. In this role, I planned and executed a lockdown and crisis communications plan during the mass casualty event on Sunday, April 19, 2020. 2. Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB): (September 2020 to March 2021)After receiving training as a toll booth operator and a lane hopper at both HHB sites, I took on a full-time role at the A. Murray MacKay Bridge as a toll booth operator and took additional training and certifications as they became available. In this role, I was a proud member of PSAC Local 80375.
